Welcome to my Psychology course page. I really enjoy this class because it teaches about people's actions, including my own. Below is some of my work for this class.
I'll be brutally honest. This lab was a work-on-the-last-second lab. It seemed the easiest to do because in class we discussed Aladdin and the stereotypes that Disney puts into their movies. Taking a different look and approach to Disney's movies, I realized just how stereotypical they can be. There are so many common interests among girls and boys in my generation, and I half feel that Disney's moves are responsible for a portion. We learn when we are young without even realizing it, and in Aladdin, we learn about Arab stereotypes.
I didn't like working on this Lab. I had to write about an experiment with dogs that were shocked and trapped to learn how they would respond. I don't think you can apply how dogs react in stressful situations and apply those findings to human beings and depression. It was hard to read this reading lab, I felt bad for the dogs.
This lab was alright. I had to watch this movie called Memento about a guy with short term memory loss that happens every couple of minutes. This applies to Psychology in the memory portion, but the movie isn't quite accurate about portraying the protagonist's memory disability. I'm not one for movies and decided that reading labs would be better to do for the remainder of these labs. Out of all of my labs, i felt like this one was the least informative to me.
I really enjoyed working on this lab. It sparked my interest because my religion and most of society is so against pornography. I had an idea why, but this lab helped me to understand better certain risks, temptations, and how some people think and learn. In this paper I explain where I stand with pornography and what I think can be done to reduce assault.
