Welcome to my Chemistry 1210 page! This was a hybrid, half-semester online class. I found this class rather difficult, but possible if you really apply yourself to the material and independent study. Nichole Shone was my instructor. She worked well with any questions I had for her. If I could improve anything about this class, I would add online videos of visual instruction on the Chemistry material. I know without online videos, there's no way I would survive in this class. Even with the help of notes and a textbook for guidance.
Assignment one was one of the hardest for me. I had taken chemistry in high school before, but it was the only class I ever had trouble with. I had a hard time grasping the mole, conversions for it, and how to apply it in chemistry. In this assignment, we learned about the moles and I mentally had to accept something that seemed silly to my brain that it would normally discard. Once I understood the mole, I felt things started coming together.
This assignment was a little confusing and I often caught myself going online for some help with the questions. When kilojoules is involved, it gets really confusing until I rely on my equations and values. Once I did that, it started to come together and I got a better understanding. This sections was especially hard to do without sufficient visual guidance. It would of saved me countless hours trying to figure out the steps on my own to match the ending answer.
This was the final assignment for this course besides the final exam. This one I found the easiest out of all the others. It had a lot to do with electron configurations, lewis dot structures, and idea gas equations. It was pretty basic and I could easily find some material online to help me understand the process of solving and apply these new ideas. This assignment I actually enjoyed a little because I finally felt confident in how I was solving some of the equations.
